At Day Light I fetched
within with low land
which formed the SE

woody near the shore & other parts bear [bare]. An
opening like a Harbour appeared bear

5 Miles to the NW of which appeared a cul
-tivated Country & from the arrangement of
the Trees on one part it looked like a Gentlemans
Seat. A great sea sat on the shore &er were only 5
Miles from it I therefore hauled out on a Wind
to clear the SE

put into this apparent Port but I feared it
might be difficult for me to get out again.
Interiors parts Mountainous & Woody
Appeared the mouth of a River at the point of
low land. —

ch. we take to be cultivated– See no Houses or Smokes.
The [?] we now see are high, but the shore has
been low we have passed hitherto. Plenty of wood.
I intended to have gone on the East Side but
I could not get round & I expect the gover
