Saturdy. 30th. May 1789.—
Very fine Wr. Wind ESE & SE
after eating our dinner we employed
the latter part of the afternoon gathering
oysters & got sufficient with some Palm
Tops to make a good Stew for Supper &
Issued full 1½ pint of it to each Man
and every one found himself vastly
better– the general complaints were
a great weakness & some few of a
dizzyness in the head, for my own part
I suffered only a little of the former and
a pain in the Pit of my Stomach.—
As the Isld. we are on does not extend
above a mile or 1½ round nothing new
occured.– Part of us slept on shore &
myself & others in the Boat —
In the Morng having only 2 lbs of Pork
left I directed the oystering party to go
on for our last dinner & with brea[?]
by Noon I issued to every one as much
as before. – They now began to com-
