      Sir Everard Ferdinand im Thurn KCMG KBE CB FRAI (9 May 1852 – 9 October 1932) was an author, explorer, botanist, photographer and British colonial administrator. He was High Commissioner for the Western Pacific and Governor of Fiji in the years 1904–1910. [Wikipedia]

The Chart.

      The first published version of this chart was the "Chart to illustrate the paper on European Influences in the Pacific Ocean", that followed page 356, in the Geographical Journal, Volume 45 No. 4. (May 1915). Everard im Thurn was the author an article in that issue: "European Influence in the Pacific, 1513 - 1914." (pp.301-322)"

      The version used in the Privy Council document was adapted from the image in Sir Charles Lucas (ed.) The Pitcairn Island register book., London: Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge, 1929.
