In 1973, Anders returned to Norway to live with a sister in Oslo until his death, August 30, 1980.

He was well known, along with Birger Bryhn and Thorstein Schyberg, for being one of the first three Norwegians to circumnavigate the globe in a yacht, 1934-1938, in the ex-pilot Colin Archer 39-footer Ho-Ho. Married Karen; no children. Died June 20, 1982.
